Growing a Medicinal Garden

  • Canberra Environment Centre Cnr Lennox Crossing and Lawson Crescent Acton, ACT (map)

Did you know that camomile can be used to soothe colds, skin conditions and gum inflammation? Or that wormwood can relieve digestive issues and reduce inflammation from bites?

Learn about growing your own medicinal garden at home with Sarah Aylott, a garden educator with the Australian National Botanic Gardens. Sarah will explain some of the benefits of common and not-so-common plants to both you and your garden. You'll also learn about the right growing conditions for different plants, maintaining a healthy crop, taking cuttings, dividing roots and harvesting and storing medicinal plants.

Due to popular demand we are running this workshop twice on Saturday 22 April. Please book into either the morning (10am - 12pm) or afternoon (1pm - 3pm) session.
