Making Non Dairy Milk

  • Canberra Environment Centre Cnr Lennox Crossing and Lawson Crescent Acton, ACT (map)

Udderlessly delicious

Maybe you are lactose intolerant or perhaps you simply enjoy a good nut milk.

Whatever your milk persuasion, the Canberra Environment Centre’s Making Non-Dairy Milks workshop will equip you with the skills and confidence to make your own non-dairy milk at home. Home-made non-dairy milks are cheap, easy to make and don’t contain any additives, emulsifiers and sugars often found in store bought varieties.

nilbarcodefood.com’s Evangeline Lam will demonstrate how to make dairy-free milks using almonds, cashews and coconuts. Learn how to make cashew nut cream cheese, pick up additional ideas about what to do with leftover pulp and learn about how to use non-dairy milk in everyday cooking. Finally, taste test the difference between homemade and store bought varieties with samples provided for the workshop.
