Have you ever wanted to know how to make your backyard more friendly to bees? Alongside the honeybee, Canberra is home to a number of important native pollinators such as the blue banded bee. With planning, your garden can be both food and habitat for these amazing insects.

In this workshop you will join Rob of ACT For Bees to learn about the needs of various different native bee species in Canberra. Rob will show you how to construct an insect hotel to take home, followed by a tour of the Environment Centre’s Native Pollinator Garden. This garden was founded and is maintained by local student group ANU for Bees.

This event is run in conjunction with ANU for Bees and ACT for Bees, and will include the opportunity to learn about the work that these groups are doing across the community.
