Good hand tools are expensive, and if treated right can last for generations. But what can you once a handle starts to split, splinter or the tool has started to rust? Learn how to restore old hand tools and to maintain the ones that you have so that they last for years to come.
Drew Turketo from Make Haste Farm loves the process of restoring old hand tools and is keen to share his techniques. Transform that old hoe head from a rusted relic to reliable addition to your garden and shed.
This workshop will cover: basic rust treatment, sharpening, wooden handle restoration or replacement and the correct care and storage of tools. We’ll mainly be focusing on gardening implements such as spades, hoes and small hand tools like hammers and hatchets.
If you have a tool that you’d like to work on during the workshop please bring it in.
