Switching from Gas to an all Electric Home

  • Canberra Environment Centre Cnr Lennox Crossing and Lawson Crescent Acton ACT 2601 (map)

This workshop will explore the benefits for your family of switching your home heating, hot water and cooking to all-electric appliances. There are also significant environmental reasons to switch our homes off gas. Expert presenters will guide you through how to switch and reduce your energy consumption and bills, including walking through the Conservation Council’s Make the Switch website, action planner and savings calculator.

Switching our homes from gas to electricity is a significant and practical way for Canberra families to contribute to a sustainable future and build momentum for the necessary energy transformation. The recently re-elected Labor–Greens government is committing to ceasing gas connections to new homes and increasing support for Canberra households to improve energy efficiency, now is the perfect time to go all-electric!

Please note that in the event of community transmission of COVID-19 in the ACT region the Canberra Environment Centre reserves the right to either adapt the workshop to online or cancel the event and refund all ticketholders at our discretion.

Please observe good hygiene and social distancing during this workshop and do not attend if you have been feeling unwell.
