Intro to Seed Saving

  • Canberra Environment Centre Cnr Lennox Crossing and Lawson Crescent Acton ACT (map)

** Please note this workshop was incorrectly listed on our website as being scheduled for Tuesday 20 March. It is scheduled for Tuesday 13 March 6-8pm and we apologise for any confusion over the date. **

Join Canberra Seed Savers’ Arian McVeigh for an introductory workshop to basic herb and veggie seed saving. There are many benefits to saving seeds; seed saving protects our heritage of abundant, open-pollinated food seeds from biodiversity loss. It also allows Canberra growers to make the most out of varieties that grow well in local conditions and can help reduce the cost of growing your own food.

Learn about basic seed saving techniques through practical exercises in this hands-on workshop. Arian will also share her tips for growing the best plants for seed in the Canberra region and explain how to be part of the Canberra Seed Savers Network. There will be plenty of opportunities for questions too.

$15

Refund Policy: Please kindly note that tickets are non-refundable and cannot be transferred to other workshops, however you are welcome to pass your ticket on to another person.
