Fiona Buining and Michael Wilson from Ainslie Urban Farm have been growing an astounding amount of food on their suburban block for many years. Within this small area, they grow vegetables, fruit and berries, as well as keeping chickens, bees and rabbits. This tour is a chance to see the techniques and systems that they use to produce fruit and vegetables in Canberra’s soil and climate. Some of the methods you’ll observe in action include garden planning, soil improvement, bed preparation and composting.
If you want to hear more about the growing techniques used at Ainslie Urban Farm, and learn to create a plan for your own vegetable garden, you can also book in to the workshop Planning a Food Garden on Tuesday 10th August with Fiona and Michael.
Bookings are essential for this tour, and numbers are strictly limited. The address will be sent out to ticketholders prior to the tour. Please note that dogs are not permitted on the property, and we ask that all pets are left at home.
