Give your clothes, shoes and accessories another chance at life.
Swapping clothes is a practical way to reduce waste and have fun at the same time! Bring up to twenty items of good quality clothing, shoes or accessories that you no longer need/ wear/ fit into/ care about to swap with other people. Enjoy a light afternoon tea with lovely people.
If you're new to clothes swaps, here's what to do:
1.) Go to wardrobe
2.) Take note of what you no longer wear, use or take out for walks - clothes, accessories, shoes, jewels, bits and pieces that don't get out much anymore. It probably deserves a new owner if you haven't worn it for a year.
3.) Dredge it out, bag it up and bring up to 20 good quality items to the Canberra Environment Centre. If you have some spare coat hangers or portable clothes rack please bring them along.
4.) Leave your pride at home (unless you are a lion).
5.) We will start when all clothes are out on display, so as not to make it a dash-for-fast madness. It is about the clothes but just as much about the community.
6.) Swap clothes and the history that lies within them with a bunch of lovely people. Enjoy some nibbles. Go away with a new wardrobe. Donate according to how delighted you feel.
7.) When all that remains are a rich array of polyester moo moos and string vests that aren’t (yet) fashionable again, everything will be bagged up and donated.
