Sustainability and Your Stomach: Workshop for Kids

  • Canberra Environment Centre Crn Lennox Crossing & Lawson Crescent Acton, ACT, 2601 (map)

Learn about where your food comes from through hands-on activities and a tour of the Urban Farm at Two Before Ten Aranda.

This workshop will get you thinking about where your food comes from, and why some foods are more sustainable than others. Sustainability and Your Stomach is suitable for primary school aged children.

Learn about how our choices about what we eat impact our world, why buying local and in season is a great thing, and how we could design a better kind of meal for a better future.

Attendees will go on a tour of the Urban Farm, and see how the produce that is grown onsite is used in the café. They will get to make an artwork of their dream burger using recycled paper and magazines, as well as learning how to make a scrappy pickle using leftover vegetables.

This workshop is presented by the Canberra Environment Centre in partnership with Two Before Ten.
