Bee Friendly Gardens

  • Online Acton, ACT, 2601 (map)

Bees need our help, and there’s so much we can do in our own backyards! Learn about how to make your garden a haven for bees.

Join ACT for Bees to learn about the many different types of bee that live in Australia, and they types of flowers and gardens that they prefer.

While European bees are kept for their delicious honey, Canberra also boasts plenty of native bees that do important work as pollinators. Learn about both native bees and honey bees and how to create welcoming habitat for them in your backyard. In this interactive workshop you’ll be supported to make a plan for integrating bee friendly plants and features into your own garden or balcony.

ACT for Bees is a group that educates people about the importance of bees, especially their role in growing our food. They work to help people find ways to be 'Bee Friendly'!

The Canberra Environment Centre is a non-government, not for profit environmental education centre that empowers people to create a sustainable future by supporting lifelong behavioural change.

This workshop has a pay-as-you-feel ticket price, which will help us continue running these events in future. Our suggested amount is $5 for students/unwaged, and $10 for waged.

This is an online event conducted over the videoconferencing platform Zoom. Register via Eventbrite to receive the meeting link
