As many a Canberra gardener would know good soil is the key to a successful veggie garden.

Natural farming methods use local resources and microorganisms to produce fertile soils that yield nutrient dense produce. In this workshop, permaculture and aquaponics enthusiast Gurkan Yeniceri will discuss how natural farming preparations can be applied to a home garden. Learn about how to prepare simple fertilisers and natural pesticides/fungicides using ingredients such as water soluable calcium, fish amino acids, indigenous microorganisms and yeast. You’ll also learn about when and how best to use fertilisers, pesticides and fungicides to improve your garden’s soil and yield. There will be plenty of time for questions too.
