Have you ever considered living off the grid: becoming more self sufficient in food, energy, water and waste? Hear from Debbie Hunt from Perrumba farm about the links between food and biodiversity, and the impacts of climate change on the food system. On Perrumba a range of permaculture, biodynamic and whole system farming techniques are used to ensure sustainability, self sufficiency and the continued biodiversity of the land.
Debbie will also be giving practical advice on how to move towards self sufficiency at an urban scale. Get inspired to start where you are, and engage in a more fulfilling, connected sustainable life.
Debbie Hunt has been working to develop Perrumba as a sustainable, food producing farm with her family for the last 7 years. She also runs An Alternative Life Learning Centre on Perrumba, dedicated to teaching people about sustainable living, design and food production. They offer workshops and farm tours aimed at sharing knowledge on growing food using a range of sustainable growing techniques. Debbie also has over 6 years’ experience in political campaigning and community engagement, working on issues including poverty, social justice, labour rights, refugees, climate change and food security.
