The Canberra Environment Centre is back with a third season of its highly successful Local Environmental Heroes podcast.

This season, the focus is squarely on food: how food is grown and shared in the national capital and, importantly, how everyone can become more connected to food, and, in so doing, understand their local environment a little better.

The season talks to 10 local heroes who are contributing in a unique, yet complementary way, to delivering better food for Canberra and the local region.

Podcast co-host Fiona Veikkanen, Director of the Canberra Environment Centre, said, “This season, we’ve gone deep into food, talking to some amazing Canberra locals about what we eat, what we need to know about what we eat and how we can grow together.”

Podcast co-host, Julie Boulton, said: “This season has blown me away. We have an amazing array of incredible locals here in Canberra who are going above and beyond to educate and enable food for everyone.”

President of the Canberra Environment Centre Mia Swainson, said “The podcast is such an important contribution CEC is making to the city, educating Canberrans on what they can do and what they can get involved in that will assist in building a resilient and connected Canberra for the future.”

The Local Environmental Heroes podcast is available on Apple Podcast, Spotify and through the Canberra Environment Centre website.
